DEATHS AND FUNERALS
Mr. C. B. Lumpkin
The death of C. B. Lumpkin occurred yesterday afternoon at the home of his son, L. D. Lumpkin, about ten miles north of the city. The deceased was 76 years old and had been ill for only a short time.
Mr. Lumpkin was well known throughout the county and had a wide circle of friends, all of whom were deeply shocked to learn of his demise. He was a member of Pearce Chapel and is survived by three sons, Messrs. L. D. Lumpkin, of Muscogee county; T. A. Lumpkin, of Omaha, Neb.; and James Lumpkin, of Florida; also two sisters, Mrs. Fred Hill, of Rock Mills, Ala., and Mrs. Mattie Birns, of Butler, Ga.
The funeral took place this morning at 11 o'clock at Pearce Chapel, near Hamilton, Rev. T. Pharr conducting the services and the interment was in the church cemetery.
