DEATHS AND FUNERALS
MISS CLARA WALKER
The friends and acquaintances of Miss Clara Walker will be greatly shocked and pained to learn of her sudden death, which sad event occurred at her home, No. 1019 Fifth Avenue, this morning at 7 o'clock.
Miss Walker has been in declining health for the past several months, had undergone a serious operation some months ago, from which she recovered temporarily, but recently was suffering from a complication of diseases, and although she was considered to be quite sick, none expected the end to come so soon and so suddenly.
The deceased was known and greatly beloved by a large circle of friends for her bright and happy disposition, her kind and gentle manners, and many other noble and generous traits of character. To her aged mother she was the greatest source of comfort, being a patient and sacrificing daughter, a sweet and amiable sister, and to all others, she was charitable and kind.
She was a devout member of Trinity Episcopal church, and will be sadly missed from its every phase of church life and work.
Miss Walker was the only daughter of Mrs. Ella Walker and is survived by her mother and two brothers, Messrs. Flournoy and Will Walker, to whom the deepest sympathy is extended.
The funeral will occur from the residence, 1019 Fifth avenue, tomorrow at 10 o'clock a.m., conducted by her pastor, and the following gentlemen will act as pallbearers: A. A. Wilbur, A. C. Chancellor, Sr., George Sheram, H. C. Freeman, Charlie Lovelace and R. K. Mann.

PATHETIC FUNERAL OF CHARLES A. WALKER
ATLANTA, Oct 28 -- The death of Charles A. Walker, of the Southern Railway, who was killed in the yards last Thursday afternoon and whose funeral occurred Sunday, was rendered particularly sad from the fact that he was to have been married on Wednesday of this week and had made all preparations for the ceremony.
His finacee was Miss Josie Harding, of Keysville, VA, and he was to have gone there the first of this week to claim her as his bride. While in the performance of his duties late Thursday afternoon in the north yards of the Southern, he was run down by a freight car and was crushed to death. While Miss Harding was at her home in Keysville planning for the appraoching wedding, she was shocked to receive a telegram informing her of the fatal accident.
The grief-stricken young woman then quickly boarded a train and came to Atlanta. She arrived in time for the funeral and saw the body of her fiance placed beneath the sod in Westview Cemetery Sunday afternoon. Miss Harding is a friend of Mrs. Sims, wife of former Alderman George H. Sims, and is stopping at the Sims home. She will probably remain in Atlanta several days.

HADDOCK, May 16 -- This entire community was shocked and grieved at the announcement Wednesday morning of the death of Mrs. Clara Walker Anchors, wife of Dr. H. L. Anchors. She had been ill only a few days. Just one week ago she was out driving with friends in her usual happy spirits, and apparently fully recovered from a recent attack of measles.
The high esteem in which Mrs. Anchors was held was attested by the large attendance upon her funeral and the profusion of flowers sent in by her sorrowing friends. A very handsome floral piece was sent by the local lodge of Knights of Pythias.
She was an active member of the Methodist church at this place, and her gentle ministrations to the sick and many acts of kindness had endeared her to the community in a peculiar way.
The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. A. Ernest, her pastor. Her six brothers-in-law acted as pall-bearers.
