- Mrs. Wood was born December 31, 1925 in Columbus, Ga., daughter of the late Elloise Carter Gill and Clark D. Gill, Sr.
- She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, Ellerslie, Ga.
- She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Wood, brothers, Clark D. Gill, Jr. and Jeffrey L. Gill; step mother, Kathleen Gill; son in law, Ben Brown.
- She is survived by a daughter; two sisters; sister in law; six brothers; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; thirty five nieces and nephews; fourteen great nieces and nephews.
