In Knoxville, Crawford county, on the 23d inst. Lemuel D. Slatter, Esq. in the 39th year of his age. The deceased has left a wife and five children to deplore his loss. Mr. S. was a kind husband, a tender parent, and respected in all the relations of life. Although a member of no church, he was calm and resigned through a long and protracted illness, and departed to "that bourne from whence no traveller returns," with the utmost confidence in the goodness and mercy of Divine Providence. Peace to his memory...A Friend.
