DIED IN ST. LOUIS.
Captain Joseph Wheless Has Relatives in Augusta.
The following is taken from the St. Louis Republic:
"Captain Joseph Wheless, formerly in the Confederate army, who has been an invalid since the war, died yesterday, aged 69 years, at his home, No. 4202 Delmar avenue. His body will be shipped to his old home in Nashville, Tenn., today. Captain Wheless lived in St. Louis but four years. He was formerly in the banking business in Clarksville, Tenn., where he was born and raised. Malone, Thomas, Joseph and Miss Mary Elizabeth Wheless, his children, and Mrs. Lizzie Wheless, his widow, survive. Captain Wheless was a brother of Jeneral [sic] John Wheless, of the Confederate army."
Captain Wheless was also a brother of the late Mr. William T. Wheless, of Augusta and uncle of Mr. Wallace Wheless, of the Chronicle.
